This album is dedicated to all trip reporters around the world. All track titles stem from actual trip reports on erowid.org, a website dedicated to "documenting the complex relationship between humans and psychoactives". These people try to describe altered states of mind that only happen inside of you and cannot be seen or experienced from the outside.
For this album, I put myself into the role of a trip reporter but instead of text I chose music as my medium and try to depict the unseeable. Many tracks revolve around the feeling of ego dissolution or of everything merging into one during a psychedelic experience - it's hard to put into words...
All recordings were done live at home using a few synthesizers, samplers and sequencers.
A very diverse spin on the SH aesthetic. Some tracks are very faithful to Yamaoka's original music and atmosphere while others offer an extremely divergent experience in the form of pop-and-rock-like remixes that caught me very off-guard at times.
It's all over the place in terms of style and sound and mixing, so it's very unlikely that you'll enjoy everything or nothing at all. Summa summarum it's a project worth supporting. Schattenseitenträumer
Though one might find it hard to call this Dungeon Synth, it would be equally hard not to be deeply moved by this collection of greatly inspired and inspiring piano tracks, whose orchestral conclusion manages to add yet another color to the already colorful emotional palette the artist used to usher the listeners into this nicely-crafted nocturnal universe of grief and melancholy.
